The price I tell you is the price you pay. I look at what is actually there, put the figure in writing, then get on with it: rewires, consumer units, EICRs, EV chargers, fault finding, new builds, commercial and farm work, right across North Yorkshire.
Or message on WhatsApp. Either way you get an answer within 24 hours, Monday to Friday.Whether it is one dead socket or a full farm supply, it is the same standard of work and the same paperwork at the end of it.
Full and partial rewires, and consumer unit replacements to current 18th Edition (BS 7671) standards.

More on farm workOutside lighting, garage and outbuilding supplies, garden offices, hot tubs and security lighting. Armoured cable run properly and buried to depth.
Outdoor electricsThere is always a spare way on the board. If what you need is not on this list, ring and ask, and I will tell you straight whether it is a job for me.
Call 07546 173885The charger is the easy part. What people worry about is not knowing who is turning up, or a second, bigger number appearing once the van is on the drive. So the fuse board gets looked at first, and then you get the figure.
This is farming country, and a farm is a different job to a house. Long runs, three phase, dust, water, livestock, and machinery that has to keep running. It is work I have been doing for years, and it is not something every domestic electrician will take on.
The board in that photo is the kind of thing I mean. Three phase distribution feeding red three phase sockets for the big machinery, blue 16A singles, and ordinary 13A twins for everything else, each on its own isolator so one thing can be shut off without stopping the building.
Run by Jake Clark-Worsdale, based in Hunton, North Yorkshire. Twelve years as an electrician, six of them self employed, covering rewires, consumer units, EICRs, new builds, commercial work and farm electrics across a wide rural patch.
Every job is carried out to current wiring regulations, with clear quotes before work starts and proper certification once it is finished. As the business has grown, work is also carried out alongside trusted subcontractors. Every job is still overseen directly, with the same standard of paperwork and finish whoever is on the tools.
Word gets round fast out here, which is exactly why the price you are given is the price you pay. Done properly, first time.
Four stages, whether it is a dead socket or a full rewire. You always know which one you are in.
Home base is Hunton, between Bedale and Leyburn. From there it is Swaledale and Wensleydale in one direction, York and Harrogate in the other.
Somewhere not on the list? Ask. If it is a job worth travelling for I will tell you, and if it is not, I will tell you that too.
Reviews on here are still coming. Rather than dress the page up with nothing behind it, here is only what I can stand behind today.
If you want to speak to someone whose work I have done before you commit to anything, ask me on the call and I will sort it.
Straight answers, same as you would get on the phone.

Yes. Worsdale Electrical Contractors is NAPIT registered, membership number 67727, and you are welcome to check it. All work is carried out to current wiring regulations, 18th Edition, BS 7671, with proper certification handed over when the job is finished.
£1,400 inclusive of VAT for a standard home install. That covers the EV distribution board, the charger, 10m of supply cable from your board out to the charger, the NAPIT certificate and the DNO notification. If the run is longer or the routing is awkward the price changes, and you get that figure in writing before anything starts.
Sometimes, and that is exactly why the board gets looked at before a price is given rather than after. A consumer unit change is about £1,000 inclusive of VAT on its own. Done in the same visit as the charger, the pair comes to £2,000 rather than the £2,400 they cost separately.
Yes. Three phase supplies, distribution boards and sub mains, three phase and single phase socket outlets, isolators and switchgear, farm and barn wiring, livestock building electrics, outbuildings, workshops, and grain and machinery stores.
An Electrical Installation Condition Report is an inspection and test of the electrical installation in a property, written up into a report telling you what condition it is in and what needs attention. Worsdale Electrical carries them out for homeowners and landlords, along with Minor Works certificates for smaller jobs.
Always. Someone comes and looks at what is actually there rather than guessing down the phone, then you get a clear quote before anything is booked in. If something changes you hear about it before it happens, not after.
